# PNF（Proximal Nail Fold）

### ネイルケア・ネイル用語としての「PNF」

ネイルの世界では、**Proximal Nail Fold（近位爪郭）**の略語として使われます。これは、爪の根元にある皮膚が折り重なっている部分（甘皮の下に隠れている部分）を指します。 

* **役割**: 新しい爪が作られる場所（[爪母](/docs/definition-of-words/nono/nail-matrix.md)）を保護し、異物の侵入を防ぐバリアの役割を果たしています。
* **注意点**: セルフネイルなどで甘皮を処理（トリミング）する際、このPNF（近位爪郭）を深く削りすぎたり傷つけたりすると、爪の変形や感染症の原因になるため注意が必要です。
